Let’s Make Space for Your Story, Too.

Maybe you’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what other people want, what’s expected of you, or how your choices might affect the people you care about. It can become harder to hear what you think, feel, need, or want.

You may be questioning old expectations or noticing familiar ways of responding, leaving you wondering: What about me?

Therapy can be a place to better understand yourself and explore what you want to change, carry forward, or approach differently.

Understanding Before Judgment

Before asking what needs to change, I believe there’s value in understanding what’s already here, what shaped it, and what it may have helped you navigate.

I’m Jennifer Bonilla, founder of  THERAPY across SEASONS

Registered Psychotherapist (MDiv., B.A., CYW)

I work with adults and families who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them. Together, we often explore family dynamics, culture, identity, expectations, and the ways we learned to stay connected to others, sometimes at the expense of ourselves

I hold a Master’s in Clinical Counselling, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Diploma in Child and Youth Work. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I supported young people and families in community organizations, schools, residential programs, and family support services. Those experiences continue to shape how I understand the lasting impact relationships and environments can have throughout our lives.

As a first-generation Canadian with Salvadoran roots, I understand how family, culture, identity, gender, faith, and community can shape how we understand ourselves and our relationships.

I bring that perspective into therapy while staying curious about what those experiences mean to you, rather than assuming they mean the same thing for everyone.

My Story

GROWTH ACRSOSS SEASONS

I created Therapy Across Seasons around the belief that growth doesn't always mean starting over. The name reflects the idea that life is always changing, and each season can invite us to adapt, reconnect with ourselves, question what we've known, or make room for something new.

THERE'S NO ONE RIGHT PLACE

Therapy doesn't require you to have everything figured out. Some seasons are for understanding, others for trying something different. Wherever you are, we'll begin there.

BOTH CAN BE TRUE

You can love your family and want different boundaries. You can understand someone and still feel hurt. You can value where you come from while questioning what you want to carry forward

What Therapy With Me Can Look Like

Therapy with me is collaborative, reflective, and relational. We may explore what’s happening now alongside the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and cultural messages that have shaped how you understand yourself and relate to others.

I’ll often ask questions that help us look beneath familiar reactions or ways of coping, while also exploring what can shift. This might mean communicating differently, setting boundaries, making decisions, navigating difficult emotions, or responding to yourself with more compassion.

My approach is integrative and informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and parts work. I draw from these approaches based on your needs and what we’re working toward together

MY PLAYLIST

My playlist jumps from cumbia to R&B, salsa to nu-metal. If you catch me humming between sessions, now you know why.
